Le Meurice – Dorchester Collection
We selected this hotel because its history reads like a century of Parisian drama compressed...
J.K. Place Paris occupies a refurbished nineteenth-century mansion on Rue de Lille that once served as the Norwegian embassy, reworked by Florentine architect Michele Bönan into the fourth address in the J.K. Place family after Florence, Capri and Rome. Bönan's design language, collectible antiques set against custom Italian furniture, carries over largely unchanged from the Italian properties, giving the Paris hotel a clear house style rather than a one-off concept built for the city. The result sits on the Left Bank, a short walk from the Musée d'Orsay and Saint-Germain-des-Prés, in a neighborhood that favors quiet galleries over the retail density of the Right Bank.
We chose this address because it imports a design identity that already works elsewhere rather than inventing one from scratch: the same Michele Bönan aesthetic that defines J.K. Place Florence and Capri, applied to a Parisian mansion with its own embassy history. Each of the 29 rooms is individually decorated, which keeps the hotel from feeling like a chain property despite belonging to one. Casa Tua, the restaurant, adds an Italian dining identity distinct from the city's usual bistro register, and the below-ground spa gives the hotel a genuine wellness offer rather than a token treatment room.
Rue de Lille sits in the 7th arrondissement, within walking distance of the Musée d'Orsay, the Seine and the cafés of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. It is a quieter, more residential stretch of central Paris than the Right Bank's Golden Triangle, suited to travellers who want museum-going and long walks along the river over a stay built around fashion flagships. The galleries and antique dealers of the Carré Rive Gauche are close enough for an afternoon on foot.

The 29 rooms and suites run from Classic and Superior categories up to larger suites such as the Signature Suite, each decorated individually rather than built to a repeated template. Parquet floors, mother-of-pearl cabinetry and Italian marble bathrooms recur throughout, the same material vocabulary Bönan uses across the J.K. Place family, but the room-by-room variation means returning guests can request a different layout on a repeat stay rather than the same room each time.
Casa Tua, the hotel's restaurant, serves Northern Italian cuisine beneath a glass-roofed courtyard, one of the concept's few locations outside its original Miami base. The adjoining Lounge Bar keeps a more informal register, built around cocktails and tapas-style bites rather than a full dinner service. Together they give the hotel a dining identity that leans Italian rather than French, a point of difference in a neighborhood built around classic Left Bank bistros.
At 29 rooms, this is a small hotel by Right Bank palace standards, better suited to a couple or a design-focused traveller than a group needing scale. The 7th arrondissement location means a quieter evening scene than the Champs-Élysées side of the river, worth knowing if nightlife is part of the plan. The hotel accepts families, with cribs and extra beds available on request, which sets it apart from some of the more formally adults-oriented addresses nearby.
